What belongs in an event listing?

An event listing should answer the practical questions before someone decides whether to attend. Include the purpose, date, time, timezone, and location. Add a meeting link only when the event is real and the destination is ready to share. The calendar in this demo contains labeled sample events. They show the format without presenting a real meeting or attendance list.

Give every lesson a useful next action

A lesson exercise should help someone use the idea while it is still fresh. Ask for one concrete result, such as drafting a profile bio, outlining a question, or choosing the next lesson to complete. The Lockers example course pairs each lesson with an exercise and a clear output. Open a few lessons to compare how the action changes with the topic.

Choose categories around the conversations people return to

Categories work best when each one has a clear purpose. A welcome category can hold orientation posts, while a workshop category can collect questions about lessons and assignments. Start with a short list based on the conversations your community already expects. Members can then scan one topic without losing the shared community feed.

What makes a community question easier to answer?

A useful question gives readers a specific situation and a clear point where input would help. For example, a course creator might share the lesson goal, the draft activity, and the part that still feels unclear. Keep the details that affect the answer in the post. If the topic changes after a few replies, create a new discussion with a title that matches the new question. That keeps both conversations easier to find later.
