Use notifications without losing context

Notifications point you back to activity that involves you. The useful part is the post, message, or event behind the notification. Read the activity list Open Notifications from the community navigation. New items appear with unread information. A notification can point to a comment, a like, a direct message, a pinned post, or an event. Open an item to read the full context. Before replying to a comment, read the post and the surrounding discussion. Before responding to a message, review the conversation so your answer fits what was said. Use read controls Opening a notification marks it read. Mark all read clears unread status for the list when you have finished reviewing it. It does not complete a lesson or RSVP to an event; those actions happen in their own areas. Choose your next action If an item needs a reply, respond where the conversation lives. If it points to an event, check the details and your RSVP. If it is simply an acknowledgment, you can read it and move on. A brief review when you enter the community is enough to find recent activity. You can then spend the rest of your time on the course or conversation you came for.
