Keep notes and use lesson discussions

A useful lesson often leaves you with a detail to save or a question to ask. The lesson screen gives those two needs separate places. Save a personal note Use Your private notes to record an idea you want to keep for yourself. Write the point in your own words and include the next action it suggests. Use the note control to save before you move to another lesson. Private notes are separate from the lesson discussion. Choose the private area when you are recording your own thinking rather than inviting a reply. Ask a question in context Use Lesson discussion for a question about the material on that page. Name the instruction or example you are asking about, and explain what you need clarified. The lesson context helps other learners understand your question. Complete the exercise Some lessons include a written exercise. Read the prompt before you start, then use the response area if the lesson provides one. An exercise response is distinct from a private note and can be reviewed by course staff. When a lesson includes a download, open it from the resource card. Keep the file somewhere you can find it again. This course ends with a first-week checklist you can save and use outside the lesson.
